The PEX (Peripheral Expansion) is an optional module connected to the base of a FlexSet 280x (280, 280D, 280D-Z and 280S). It is used to supply external power to the FlexSet 280x and all other expansion modules (FlexSet 40B, etc.). It also supplies the power necessary for extended Coral FlexSet line lengths. The PEX unit contains a control bus connection for the expansion modules and an audio jack for an additional handset or tape recorder (listen-in ability only).
