Shipping Policies

We exclusively offer UPS & DHL Ground Shipping for all your purchases with StartechTel.com. We promise speedy delivery, offering UPS & DHL shipping, and getting your orders out the door as fast as possible (usually same day). We primarily ship using UPS ground service, however we reserve the right to ship any other standard (or other) method. We reserve the right to charge additional shipping fees without prior notification on any shipments, including shipments to non-contingent states or territories of the United States and military mail. Business-day standard shipping orders placed by 12:30 pm PST usually ship the same day.

Expedited Shipping

We offer expedited shipping options at standard shipping rates (3 Day Select, 2nd Day Air, Next Day). For any expedited shipping, all online orders must be placed by 3 o'clock pacific standard time. We put priority on orders in which customers choose non-discount, expedited shipping, and although we can't guarantee it ships the same day, if placed by 3:00pm Pacific, these orders should be shipped that day. Almost every order is shipped within 24 hours. There are some exceptions, however, depending on the circumstances and products.

Canadian Shipping Options

We ship Canadian freight by Standard to Canada, rates vary depending on package weight shipping discounts may apply ask your sales rep! Please be advised that you may be required to pay Canadian duties and taxes upon receipt of your purchase. We cannot estimate the amount of these taxes as they are not determined by Startech Telecommunications and are not paid to Startech Telecommunications.

Return Policies

Startech accepts returns on new and refurbished equipment. The restocking fee for all returned equipment is 20%. Products must be returned within 14 days of invoice. After 14 days, no returns will be accepted. Products must be returned as received with all original packaging, documentation, and accessories. Products that are incomplete or defective will be refused. Please call 909-593-1957 for return authorizations.

Restocking Fee

There is a 20% restocking fee applied to all items returned for refund.

Shipping Costs

When shipping an item for return, the customer takes full responsibility for getting the item(s) to us and thus coordinating insurance of such item(s) with the shipping company. Shipping costs to get the item returned is also the responsibility of the customer. Startech Telecommunications will not take responsibility for undelivered items or items delivered defective, broken or in any other form other than that of the original shipment. Any shipping costs incurred by the customer are non-refundable.

Refusal of Returns

Startech Telecommunications also reserves the right to refuse any return in which the product is opened or not in its original form, with its original accessories, manuals, instructions, and anything else that came with the original package. Products that are determined to have been damaged by the customer will also be denied for return. Please make sure the return is in its original form.

Credit Card Refunds

Returned items must be stocked and properly processed before refunds are issued to the customer's credit card. credit card refunds may take up to 30 days to be issued from the day we receive the item(s) in our warehouse, depending on processing constraints.


Phone System Refunds

New and Like New Installed or purchased complete phone systems are NON-refundable and NON-returnable unless the reason for return is the fault of Startech Telecommunications. See warranty (Return for Replacement) information below regarding defective Phone System equipment.

This rule is only limited to complete phone systems. All other items on the Startech Telecommunications web site fall under the normal returns policies and procedures.

Important Notice about International Orders

All orders outside the jurisdiction of the United States are non-refundable and non-returnable. There are no exceptions to this policy.

Exchanges or Store Credit

Startech Telecommunications does not accept returns for exchanges or store credit. If you want to return an item or items within 14 business days of delivery, Startech Telecommunications only issues refunds to customer credit cards.

Warranty Information

Startech Telecommunications carries both new consumer electronics and new and refurbished secondary market PBX equipment. New consumer electronics are warrantied by the manufacturer for the standard 1 year period, although some offer a longer period. If consumer electronics become defective, you must contact the manufacturer.

For most new and refurbished PBX equipment*, Startech is the warrantier, therefore within one year from the date of purchase, you will contact us.

If a secondary market, new or refurbished. pbx phone or component becomes defective, you can contact us within one year (it may be more or less by contract). The procedure is as follows: you fill out our online form; we reply with return instructions and a return number; you send it in at your own expense; we repair or replace it and ship it back at our expense.

This process can take up to 10 business days, not including shipping time. We do not offer temporary replacements or rentals. We do NOT issue call tags or advanced replacements under any circumstances. Replacements can only be sent by standard ground shipping.

*There are some new Panasonic and NEC systems, such as the Panasonic KXTA824 and NEC DS1000, DS2000, and DSX, which are warranted though the manufacturer and are not considered secondary market items, so you would call the manufacturer directly. We can provide you with return information based on the item.

*Different warranty rules apply to Phone Systems Category items and Wireless Products


Refurbished PBX Equipment* Warranty

We offer a 1 year warranty on all refurbished PBX phones from our Phone Systems category. This warranty is fully backed by Startech Telecommunications, INC. (not the manufacturers of these products)! Ask about our extended warranties!


This means that in the case a refurbished PBX item becomes defective within 1 year of the transaction, Startech Telecommunications takes full responsibility to replace or repair these items.** On all defective returns, customer pays for defective item to be shipped back to the proper location for replacement. Defective items must be returned (delivered) to their proper return addresses with the Startech Telecommunications-issued RMA on the front of the box, before replacements are shipped out (No exceptions). Customer will NOT incur any cost for the standard ground shipping of the replacement item(s) back to the customer.

Refurbished Phone Systems products are fully warrantied and backed by Startech Telecommunications independent of their respective manufacturers. Labor is NOT covered under warranty under any circumstance.

THE WARRANTY ON YOUR PHONE SYSTEM COVERS ALL NORMAL WEAR AND USAGE. CUSTOMER ERROR AND MISUSE, SUCH AS, SPILLING LIQUID ON PHONES, OR DROPPING PHONES, ARE NOT COVERED. TECHNICIANS NOT APPROVED BY STARTECH TELECOMMUNICATIONS WILL VOID WARRANTY. ACTS OF GOD, SUCH AS FLOOD, LIGHTENING, EARTHQUAKE, AND OTHER NATURAL DISASTERS ARE NOT COVERED. NORMAL WEAR AND USAGE WILL BE REPLACED UPON REQUEST. LABOR IS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS WARRANTY.

Warranty Disclaimer

**In case of a warranty request, Startech Telecommunications, Inc. will not be responsible beyond the original purchase price of any one item or combination of items. Startech Telecommunications has the right to repair or replaced or refund defective items sent back by right of warranty and which comply with warranty redemption guidelines. Startech Telecommunications, Inc. follows manufacturer or distributor instructions on the returns of out-of-box defective items. As such, defective items are handled in different ways by different distributors and manufacturers depending on the time the item becomes defective and what is wrong with it, etc. Startech Telecommunications, INC., and all its affiliates and owners disclaim any liability or responsibility for grievances brought against it regarding any warranty remediations. The customer must know that we follow the instructions of the manufacturer or distributor of these items and these warranty specifications and requirements are out of our hands.

International Orders

All orders outside the jurisdiction of the United States are non-refundable and non-returnable. All warranties will be honored by Startech Telecommunications, however shipping costs to and from customer location are to be paid by the customer and will not be provided by Startech.

Technical Support Policies

Startech offers free technical support to its complete phone system customers by appointment only. Free technical support includes isolated phone and voicemail setup and feature questions. Extensive installation and programming support is charged $85 hourly by appointment only. Free technical support is effective for one year from the date of purchase; free tech support will not be available after 1 year unless customer is on a service contract. Privacy Policy

Startech Telecommunications, Inc. does not in any way distribute, transfer, sell or exchange customer information. All customer information is used for the purpose of processing orders or other related activities regarding processing, customer service, and sales offers. To its customers, Startech Telecommunications will email product offerings and other information on an infrequent, periodic basis. Credit Policies

We offer Corporate and Government credit terms to qualified businesses and government agencies. Credit is only given to clients with above average credit only. We have the right to refuse any business or agency credit based on our credit assessment criteria. To apply for credit terms, please call 909-593-1957 for a copy of the credit application, fill it out completely and mail it to 1950 Walker St., La Verne, CA 91750 Credit applications take approximately two weeks to process. Applications must be complete with all the information required or applications will not be accepted.
